The Provincial Nominee Program is an important avenue by which skilled immigrants can become permanent residents of Canada. It authorizes every province and territory to nominate those candidates who have the ability to fulfill local economic needs and the requirements of the labor market. Though Quebec is an exception, all other provinces and territories have their own unique streams that focus on a number of categories, such as skilled workers, semi-skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and international graduates.
